The Bride:

My full name is Holly Nicole Meachem and I was born in Newark, New Jersey on December 16th, 1979 to Marsha Renee Morris – Dawson and Matthew Joseph Meachem Jr. I have three sisters – Dana, Vena, and Chole and 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Ok – enough formalities...

I remember a lot of my childhood with my parents and weekends with my aunts and cousins in New Jersey and New York; but my family moved to Texas when I started Jr. High. I attended school at Berkley Terrace Elementary in Irvington, NJ and then went to Queen City Jr. High and High School. I was a cheerleader from an early age and by high school it was my life! I still love to watch the competitions on ESPN and contrary to Perry’s opinion – cheerleading IS a sport! I also enjoyed playing clarinet when I was in school but have not picked up an instrument since. After QCHS, I was on my way to four (and a half) years of college at Henderson State University. Those were the BEST and WORST years of my life – but they made me who I am today so I wouldn’t change a day of it. While at HSU, I became a member of the greatest sorority of them all – Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority IN-corporated! Skkkkkeeee Wee.

College – those were the days. And we thought life was so hard then – yeah right!

After college, my focus became my career so I jumped in feet first. I stayed in Arkadelphia (yea – there is a town named Arkadelphia) for about 8 months after graduation and worked at US Bank part-time and at everyone’s favorite – WAL-MART full time. I was soon offered a job in Little Rock at Pulaski Bank & Trust where I stayed for over 2 years. During my transition from “college girl” to “career woman”, I met some pretty amazing people and strengthened the relationships with people I’d known; I began my personal spiritual journey with my Lord & Savior and was baptized; and most important I learned to love myself [as a single woman] comfortably and confidently. Those were the most challenging and rewarding years of my life. Within that time I met Perry – and he was like a cherry on top of my sundae. Not too long after meeting Perry, I was afforded the opportunity to make the best move ever – to Atlanta, GA where we both reside now. I am currently a credit analyst for Omni National Bank and I thoroughly enjoy what I do for a living. The people I work with are great and smart; I learn something new everyday and it is a constant challenge to do my best.

I love to watch movies, read, and surf the net. My favorite thing to do is to DANCE! I also like shopping for home décor and traveling but don’t do either as much as I’d like to. I love my girls – they keep me grounded and keep me fresh. Each of them connects with a different part of me and I love them for that. They allow me to be me. I like to believe that I am friendly, sweet, supportive, intelligent, and real. But most of all, I like to think that I am fun, goofy, and a good friend. I miss my family most of all but I am happy where I am.
